RAISED BED

The original supporting wood had decayed to a level where support of the soil had failed allowing the bed to slowly spread out.

SCRIBING A NEW ARC

To make the new raised bed, a stake was fixed in the middle of the exisiting flower bed and a fixed battern used to scribe a new circle. A giant compass.

NEW BED 

The new raised bed complete with acess slot to allow easy access to weed centre of flower bed.
SC4 grade timber was used to ensure maximum longevity of the new timbers. To further enhance the life span, a plastic membrane was used to line the inside of the timbers.

Changes in ground levels will need steps and retaining walls creating.

After Landscaping. New Oak Sleepers used to create vegetable beds, risers for steps and log store base.

FRONT GARDEN

New paved area required to be level with existing drive for wheelie bin storage.

SLEEPER FRAMEWORK

To achieve correct fall and levels sleeper walls were used and then ground made up with consolidated rubble/soil and Type #1 backfill. A ground stabilising mat added for good measure.

PAVED AREA & LOG STORE

Paved area laid on raised ground & Type #1 backfill, bounded by sleepers. Tricky angle and falls in 2 directions incorporated. New log store added on raised platform.
