It's a wrap!

insulated wrap on flue liner

Our chimney tale continues when we went to remove the flaunching and found the flue liner for the wood burner was some 3 metres short of reaching the chimney pot! A cowl was stuffed on top of the chimney pot to make things look good but not a liner fixing clamp in sight. This was a bad installation, not a worn out one. - Dangerous too as fumes from the wood burner could have leaked into the house.

A quick meeting with Building Control and Lemontrade were given the approval to install a new flue liner complete with insulated jacket! Only wish we had been insulated as well, it was freezing atop of the scaffolding!
